Bored Ape, Mutant Ape NFT Sales Skyrocket As Eminem Buys Bored Ape

Bored Ape Yacht Club and Mutant Ape Yacht Club NFTs (non-fungible tokens) have seen a significant surge in sales in the last seven days. Both of the NFTs are among the top two collections, as per data revealed by dappradar.com.

At the time of writing, BAYC was trading at 70.69 ETH floor price, and MAYC stood at 16.14 ETH floor price. The trading volume of BAYC increased 167.65% in the last week and stands at $83.88M, while MAYC trading volume surged 52.99% to $92.19M.

Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) is an NFT project that consists of 10,000 unique apes and MAYC is a collection of up to 20,000 Mutant Apes that can only be created by exposing an existing Bored Ape to a vial of MUTANT SERUM or by minting a Mutant Ape in the public sale.

One of the reasons for the rise in the sale of the two popular NFTs might be the fact that many celebrities such as Steph Curry have jumped on board and brought a Bored Ape for their Twitter profile pictures. The latest to join the club is the hip hop star, Eminem, who paid 123,45 ETH ($462K) for Bored Ape #9055.

The Twitter user who sold the ape to Eminem, carrying a Twitter handle GeeGazza, thanked the artist, and said, "I’m living in a simulation. Thank you@Eminem for buying my ape and joining the club! Madness. Let me write a lyric in your next single."

As per reports, Eminem’s recent BAYC purchase was the previous week’s 30th most expensive BAYC sale.
