Twitter is ablaze with outrage over Pulitzer Prize winner movie critic Roger Ebert's comment about Jackass star Ryan Dunn's high speed car accident.

Ryan Dunn died in fatal crash when his 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 swerved off the road and crashed in the woods. The car was engulfed in flames killing both Dunn and a male co-passenger.

TMZ reported that Dunn was pictured drinking with his friends at 1AM at a bar called Barnaby's of America in West Chester. He died a few hours later as his car crashed at around 2:38 AM.

Roger Ebert commented over Dunn's death stating: Jackass star Ryan Dunn, RIP. His Porsche flew through 40 yards of trees. He further added a comment which has invoked a barrage of tweets form Dunn's sympathizers and friends. Ebert tweeted: Friends don't let jackasses drink and drive.

The most vocal of all responses came from Dunn's friend and co-star in Jackass series Ban Margera who tweeted: About a jackass drunk driving and his is one, f**k you! Millions of people are crying right now, shut your fat f****g mouth!

He further stated: I just lost my best friend, I have been crying hysterical for a full day and piece of s***t roger ebert has the gall to put in his 2 cents.

However Ebert's comment on twitter has received varied responses with some vehemently deriding Ebert to some confirming his tweet.

A user codenamed DrinkyMcGee tweeted: Bemused by the newfound sensitivity of some Jackass fans. Cognitive dissonance is the phrase of the day.

Another twitter user cobro55 said: Ebert's tweets about Dunn's death may be a bit insensitive due to their timing, but that doesn't mean Ebert's wrong either.

However, some Dunn fans were not so mild in their criticism meted out to Ebert. A reader codenamed J.D on TMZ commented: PLEASE, show some dignity, civility and respect, that seems to be missing in today's society. For whatever reason, he passed away in a car accident and that is a sad tragedy for his family, his friends, his fans. Honor him and mourn him, with respect. There should be no discussion on this issue. Again, dignity, civility and respect, and class.

Another reader mike said: It really is a sad story. My heart breaks for his family. Whether or not he was right or wrong, drunk or not drunk, have we really become so indifferent to life as to delight in someones death? Have we become so judgmental to which we say it serves him right! What if we got what we really deserved?

Another reader MarcusWoodson quoted: Ebert should have said 'Better him than me'.

Damon, a reader said: Ebert took the opportunity to make others learn from the sheer shock value of his statement- and he's right. Sucks this was fatal but drinking and driving kill.

Others questioned Bam's statement that millions are crying over Dunn's death. A reader gramercypolice commented on a Gawker post: 'Millions of people are crying right now.' Millions? Crying over Ryan Dunn killing someone? Really? I wonder.

TravisSMcClain commented on Twitter: Lemme get this straight. Ryan Dunn killed himself and a passenger because he shouldn't have been driving, but @ebertchicago is the villain?

A tweet fan KristenSavage commented: It's sad either way; Ryan Dunn devoted his life to making people laugh. Drunk driving or not, it's a loss & we shouldn't be quick to judge.

A Dunn fan Aurist tweeted: dear people ragging on roger ebert: if ryan dunn was still alive he would have been jailed for manslaughter.

Another anti-Dunn comment comes from HammerF who tweeted: Ryan Dunn basically murders another human being and gets love and sincerity? Get real, we don't give cons this kind of love.

These comments reveal as how the blogosphere is divided over Roger Ebert's comments.
