When Boruto tells Kakashi about his new technique to launch Rasengan, the latter decides to pit him against his old enemy.

The official preview trailer for "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" Episode 171 shows Shojoji as Boruto’s opponent. The trailer shows a glimpse of the battle between Shojoji and Boruto.

Twitter user OrganicDinosaur shared the translation of "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" Episode 171 synopsis and it teases that Sakura will chip in to train Sarada. Sasuke will take a backseat as the mother and daughter train in combat.

Sarada and Boruto have trained hard and are confident to face a strong enemy. However, it remains to be seen if they can match up to Deepa or Victor from the Kara Organization.

The previous episode of the series has shown Boruto and Sarada training harder to improve. After an embarrassing defeat against Deepa, the Team 7 members are determined to go all out and improve their powers.

However, Boruto’s struggle to better his Rasengan continues. Later, Shikadai, ChouChou and Inojin from Team 10 appear to help him. Toward the end of the installment, Boruto announces that he has mastered his Rasengan.

Kakashi is doubtful about the outcome and wants to test his skills against a formidable opponent. Kakashi brings in Shojoji, who is serving time in prison for his crimes. Boruto and Shojoji’s practice battle will determine if the former is ready to fight Deepa and other Kara fighters.
