Ao is coming to anime as fans get ready for the Vessel Arc. "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" Episode 178 revolves around Memorial Day as Mugino meets Ao. The new episode is titled "Our Father's Back."

"Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" Episode 178's preview trailer showcases Shikamaru attending a ceremony to commemorate the Fourth Great Ninja War. Shikamaru remembers his father's death, and in the middle of this, one of the important figures known to the Fifth Mizukage arrives in the village.

Ao's purpose of visit to Konohagakure remains a mystery as the village deals with the threat of Outers infiltrating the nation.

In the previous "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" episode, Inojin, Shikadai and Boruto participate in an operational test to check Konoha's new sensory system.

The episode opens with Ino overlooking the testing of the new sensory barrier system that will help protect the borders of the village from any infiltration. Ino is excited about the early success of the sensory system. Later, Ino's son, Inojin, enlists himself to learn the tricks of the Yamanaka Clan.

After early hiccups, Inojin gets a hang of using his sensory technique to locate people with unregistered chakra.

In the second half of the episode, Inojin, Boruto, Shikadai and Sai are able to locate a criminal lurking in the village. Surprisingly, Inojin uses his Super Beast Imitating Drawing technique to draw several birds who assist him in sensing a wide area. Toward the end of the episode, Inojin and his friends apprehend the criminal.
