Naruto gets a report from Konohamaru and is interested in knowing more about Kawaki and his Kara connection. In "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" Episode 190, Boruto and his friends bring Kawaki to Advanced Research Institute.

The preview trailer for the upcoming episode, which is titled "Escape," shows Naruto willing to go to Ryutan City. He reveals he has no choice as Shikamaru insists on not letting Kawaki enter the village.

Shikamaru fears Kawaki might be an enemy and Naruto must meet him before they let him enter Konohagakure. Shikamaru wants them to check his background thoroughly.

In the trailer, Kawaki looks hostile toward Sumire in the lab. Toward the end of the preview, Kawaki even attempts to escape from the facility. It remains to be seen if he is able to get out before anyone stops him. Throughout his stay in the lab, Sumire is kind to him.

"Kawaki is detained in the laboratory! Kawaki, who has been seriously injured is being held in the Scientific Ninja Tool Research Lab. Kawaki is hostile toward Sumire, who is kind to him & taking care of him," read a summary for Episode 19.

In the previous episode, Garo and Kawaki engage in a fierce battle after the former announces he has arrived to take back the Vessel (referring to Kawaki).

Meanwhile, Konohamaru strictly instructs Team 7 to only observe the battle. When Garo overpowers Kawaki and almost kills him, both Kawaki and Boruto start to resonate with each other due to the mysterious Karma.
