‘Boruto: Naruto Next Generations’ Update: Mitsuki’s VA Kijima Ryuuichi Starts Recording Again Amid Coronavirus Hiatus

The coronavirus pandemic stopped the production of several anime series. “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” is on hiatus after the COVID-19 crisis. However, a recent tweet by voice actor Kijima Ryuuichi has sparked hope for the fans of the anime.

Kijima voices Mitsuki in the anime series, and “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 155 revolves around Mitsuki.

Kijima tweeted about his recent voice recording sessions. Twitter user OrganicDinosaur translated his tweets. However, Kijima did not reveal if his sessions included any Mitsuki recordings.

It remains to be seen how early fans can expect “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 155.

The Japanese government announced Thursday (May 14) that it is lifting a state of emergency for 39 prefectures.

“With the lifting of the state of emergency in many regions, today marks the real beginning of our efforts toward a new normal in the era of the coronavirus,” President Shinzo Abe said at a press conference, Kyodo News reported.

“We are embarking on an extremely difficult challenge, which is to keep preventing the spread of infection and moving toward fully resuming social and economic activity,” he added.

Earlier, TV Tokyo announced that “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 155 and beyond are delayed because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

“Thank you for supporting Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. Due to the declaration of a State of Emergency for COVID-19 by the Japanese government, the production schedule for new episodes of the program has been impacted. As a result, we will change the broadcast/streaming schedule for newer episodes, read the statement, via Crunchyroll.

Currently, “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” re-runs are broadcasted instead of new episodes. Episode 3 is likely to air Sunday (May 17).

In “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 155, Mitsuki’s cat Mikazuki leads him to a wounded man in an alleyway. It is pouring, and Mitsuki decides to help him.

This is the first time he met this man, and he is not sure about his intentions. Meanwhile, Team 7 is called by the local police for a joint mission. It is yet to be seen if the injured man has any connection to Team 7's next mission.
