Errol Spence Jr. is someone most felt deserved to face Manny Pacquiao next. But following an unfortunate car accident, it looks like this may no longer happen. The WBC and IBF welterweight champion managed to escape with no broken bones after a crashing his Ferrari. The good news is that the 29-year-old is awake and responding. Except for some lacerations, Spence Jr. is expected to make a full recovery.

"Spence is awake and responding and is listed in stable condition. He didn’t sustain any broken bones or fractures, but does have some facial lacerations. He is expected to make a full recovery," said Spence's representative in a report from TMZ Sports.

Spence's Ferrari was caught on surveillance cameras (via CBS 11) flipping several times. The video appeared to show the American boxer being ejected from the vehicle. Reports have it that Spence could be charged for DWI (driving while intoxicated), depending on how the investigation goes.

When word of Spence's accident got out, several people sent their thoughts and prayers to the boxing champion. Among them included the Dallas Cowboys. According to head coach Jason Garrett, he and the team are praying for Spence's fast recovery.

Porter is also sending some love to Spence after getting word of the crash. He said that his recent conqueror's health comes first and Porter is hopeful he will recover.

Yet to issue a statement is Pacquiao. After defeating his former spar mate in Porter, it comes to no surprise that Spence wants the Pac-Man. Spence was not among the list of initial candidates although that is subject to change.

There is no timetable yet on when Spence can return to boxing. Though he suffered no major injury, he is likely going to take some time off. And with Pacquiao seemingly winding his career, the chances of seeing both in the ring are getting smaller. The eight-time division champion will be turning 41-years-old this December and his boxing career may be winding down. A potential Pacquiao vs. Spence clash almost happened in the past. A future clash would depend on whether Spence can recover in time. Also, it depends if Pacquiao would still be hungry for a fight.
