Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie may no longer be together, but their fans and critics continue to link them to each other. And just recently, the ex-couple's names were dragged into a discussion about Johnny Depp and Amber Heard on social media.
On Twitter, some netizens are discussing Heard and Depp’s leaked audiotapes when one person said that both parties seemingly admitted to abusing each other. However, it cannot be denied that what the “Aquaman” star did to her ex-husband was much worse than what Depp did to her.
Twitter user @SweevyD responded to the post by making Pitt and Jolie the subjects of a similar scenario.
“Let’s see what people would do if they found out Brad Pitt used to drug Angelina Jolie with Xanax to make her ‘easier to work with’ and see what will happen to him. All I’m asking if anyone who reads this please don't take away the responsibility of an abuser and put it mutually,” the Twitter user wrote.
While there have never been talks of abuse between the former Hollywood couple, Pitt and Jolie have both admitted to taking drugs in the past. Three years ago, Pitt told GQ that he used to smoke marijuana and drink alcohol every day.
“I was boozing too much. It’s just become a problem. I can’t remember a day since I got out of college when I wasn’t boozing or had a spliff or something. I mean, we have a winery. I enjoy wine very, very much, but I just ran it to the ground. I had to step away for a minute,” he said.
Jolie’s alleged former drug dealer, Franklin Meyer, previously told National Enquirer that the “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” star was her client for several years.
“I sold her heroin and cocaine. One day, she called me up and wanted me to drop by her place. That was her way of telling me she wanted me to bring her drugs. At that time, I had just bought a video camera and decided to bring it along,” he said.
During her interview on “60 Minutes,” Jolie admitted that she went through darker times, but she couldn’t be happier that she survived.
