  • Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk both attended the premiere of his movie "Nightmare Alley"
  • The exes have been in a "really great groove" as they co-parent their daughter, according to a tipster
  • Cooper and Shayk's interactions and hangouts were allegedly more about their daughter, Lea

Bradley Cooper got candid about having Irina Shayk with him at the premiere of his newest film.

Cooper, 46, arrived at the premiere of the Guillermo del Toro-directed crime thriller "Nightmare Alley" with his ex, Shayk. Entertainment Tonight had the chance to ask Cooper about Shayk's attendance at his big night, and he told the outlet, "It's very special."

The Russian model's presence at the premiere wasn't a huge surprise. Last month, they were photographed in New York City walking arm in arm, which sparked reconciliation rumors over two years after they parted ways. However, an insider told Us Weekly following the sighting that their existing bond "hasn't changed," and they have been in a great relationship as they co-parent their 4-year-old daughter, Lea. ET's source also shared the same sentiment.

"Irina and Bradley have been in a really great groove in regards to co-parenting for a while," the unnamed insider said. "They both love Lea so much and want to be the best parents possible. A lot of Irina and Bradley's interactions and hangouts surround Lea and her schedule, but they also get together on their own."

In the movie, the "A Star Is Born" actor plays Stanton Carlisle, a Mississippi man down on hisluck. He meets a clairvoyant and her mentalist husband at a traveling carnival. The couple turns things around for him.

Aside from starring in the film, Cooper worked with del Toro in producing the movie.

"And then, being there with Guillermo. I think that was the most enjoyable thing. I have been so lucky to work with great artists, and the thing that they all have in common is a level of humility and childlike curiosity, and he has both of those things," Cooper said about the people he worked with for the movie.

He continued, "And the only goal is to tell the best story possible, and once that happens, once you're in that environment, it's infectious. And that's what he does. And I think that's why he's able to bring the best out of most people he works with."

"Nightmare Alley" also stars Cate Blanchett, Rooney Mara, Willem Dafoe, David Strathairn, Mark Povinelli, Ron Perlman, Toni Collette and more.

The film hits theaters on Dec. 17.
