A new set of details about the rescheduled PS5 reveal event is now available online. The gaming industry has been waiting for Sony to share the next date of its highly awaited event since it was postponed last June 4. The Japanese gaming console maker chose to put off last week’s event following the series of massive protests happening in the US and other parts of the world concerning the death of George Floyd.

The latest information about the PS5 reveal event comes from a new official advertisement on Twitch. The ad confirms that the highly anticipated PlayStation 5 reveal event has a new date. The PS5 showcase is now scheduled at 1 pm PT/4pmET/9 pm BST of June 11, 2020.

Fans expect Sony to make the official announcement of the new date on all its official channels soon. Sony Interactive Entertainment earlier confirmed that the PS5 is still on track on its scheduled release window despite the effects of the current global health crisis. A recent interview with SIE CEO Jim Ryan revealed that the executive is optimistic about the PS5’s feat despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

So far, Sony has not yet revealed what it would offer at the said PS5 reveal event. Earlier leaks and rumors claimed that the Japanese gaming console maker might showcase some of the titles rolling out on its next generation gaming console. Venture Beat’s Jeff Grubb previously said that Sony might reveal the full PS5 hardware earlier than the scheduled event.

Meanwhile, Bloomberg earlier claimed that Sony has several activities lined up for its next generation gaming console. However, it noted that the company might not yet reveal the full PS5 console at its first event. Unlike Microsoft that has showcased the Xbox Series X last year at The Game Awards, Sony has not yet revealed its next generation gaming console.

It officially unveiled the PS5’s companion, the DualSense controller earlier this year. Sony also unveiled the official logo of the PS5 and later launched the next-gen’s official website. Sony has not yet revealed the games launching on the PS5. Nevertheless, the industry already knows some confirmed third-party titles, including “Madden NFL 21, “Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla” and “Destiny 2.”
