Brendon Urie, Panic! At The Disco's frontman and final member, just announced that the legendary pop-rock band would now be signing off.
The 35-year-old "High Hopes" singer revealed the news via the band's official Instagram account Tuesday and penned a lengthy message for the fans who have supported their journey through the years.
"Growing up in Vegas, I could've never imagined where this life would take me. So many places all over the world, and all the friends we've made along the way. But sometimes a journey must end for a new one to begin," Urie wrote in the statement.
He then revealed that he and his wife, Sarah Urie, are expecting their first child together "very soon," and said, "The prospect of being a father and getting to watch my wife become a mother is both humbling and exciting. I look forward to this next adventure."
"That said, I am going to bring this chapter of my life to an end and put my focus and energy on my family, and with that Panic! At The Disco will be no more," he said before thanking the fans for the "immense support" over the years. He added that the Europe and the United Kingdom tours would be the last run of Panic! At The Disco.
Urie is an American singer-songwriter most popularly known as the lead vocalist of the Las Vegas-based band. At a young age, the musician has been immersed in the world of music, learning how to play instruments such as the guitar, piano, drums, bass, cello, violin, trumpet, accordion, and organ.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, the "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" singer had an estimated net worth of $12 million before the disbandment. Most of his wealth came from selling albums, going on tour and collaborating with several other bands and artists, including the Fall Out Boys, Gym Class Heroes, Travis McCoy, Taylor Swift and many others.
In 2018, Urie made it to Billboard's Highest Paid Musicians list of that year. According to the outlet, Panic! At The Disco's earnings increased by $6.1 million over 2017 and reportedly almost doubled in streaming revenue from $1.4 million to $2.7 million. The publishing income rose from $1.1 million to $2.4 million, and boosting touring reached nearly $3.3 million.
Urie once starred in the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical "Kinky Boots" in 2017, where he played the role of Charlie Prince. He also performed during the Kennedy Center Honors in 2013, where he paid homage to music legend Billy Joel.
Before the musician fronted the Grammy-nominated band, he initially auditioned as a guitarist. But he was eventually made the lead singer after his bandmates discovered his impressive vocal range, which spanned about twice the octaves of an average male singer. They then started to cover songs from popular bands, such as Blink-182, before releasing original music.
Panic! At Disco's original members were Urie, Brent Wilson, Ryan Ross, and Spencer Smith. However, in 2009, most of the members decided to leave the band primarily because of "creative differences," leaving Urie as the only original member to remain.
The band released a total of six studio albums: "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out," "Pretty Odd," "Vices & Virtues," "Death of a Bachelor," "Pray for the Wicked" and "Viva Las Vengeance."
