Netflix has dropped the teaser for season 2 of the highly anticipated romantic drama series "Bridgerton" on Twitter. The teaser shared Monday revealed steamy scenes, dance sequences, and a warning from Lady Whistledown, voiced by the iconic Julie Andrews, that she has been "sharpening" her knives.

The one-minute teaser starts with a kid running with a letter, which is read by the mysterious Lady Whistledown for the viewers. "Dearest gentle reader, Did you miss me?" she says, adding, "As the members of our ton questioned my identity and means, this author has been doing one thing. Honing my skills. No, even better. I’ve been sharpening my knives. For all of you."

The teaser further shows a series of steamy scenes between Anthony Bridgerton (played by Jonathan Bailey) and Kate Sharma (played by Simone Ashley). Anthony is seen relaxing shirtless in a bathtub in one scene and dancing with Kate in another.

"Love never plays by the rules," Netflix captioned the teaser shared on Twitter. "Bridgerton Season 2 premieres March 25."

Fans took to the comments section to share their reactions.

One of the fans noted that actor Regé-Jean Page, who played Simon Basset in the first season, won't appear in the second season and this will make it "hard" for them to watch.

"This is gonna be a hard sell without Regé. Not gonna lie to you Netflix," the fan wrote. Another fan replied, "Y'all didn't know Regé before the show and it still became a big hit. Maybe give this season a chance too."

Another user wrote on similar lines, "No Rege Jean no bridgerton," to which a fan replied, "How hard is it to understand that each season has different main characters."

Page took to Instagram to announce his exit from the show in April 2021.

According to reports, Page turned down the offer to reprise his role on the show at $50,000 per episode as he wanted to focus more on his movie career. The 34-year-old actor refused to return even for a cameo in the second season.

"Bridgerton" dropped on Netflix in December 2020 to massive success. Apart from Page and Bailey, it also featured Phoebe Dynevor, Nicola Coughlan and Claudia Jessie.

The second season is slated to release March 25 on Netflix.
