  • Hamilton roared back to victory, but Verstappen and Red Bull are not happy about it
  • The seven-time world champion insisted he didn't intend to tag the Red Bull driver

Max Verstappen and Red Bull are definitely furious over the unfortunate collision and Lewis Hamilton’s comeback win.

Hamilton finally ended his five-race losing streak after claiming the British Grand Prix victory on Sunday at Silverstone.

However, not all is pleased with the seven-time world champion’s feat, including his ultimate rival Verstappen.

The Red Bull driver was taken to the hospital for further precautionary tests following a terrible collision with Hamilton at Copse Corner on the opening lap.

The Mercedes driver's left-front wheel tagged Verstappen’s rear-right that resulted to the Dutchman spinning into the tyre barrier .

Hamilton was given a 10-second penalty for causing a collision but still managed to tally his way back victory, passing Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and heading into the final three laps.

Moments after Hamilton’s win, Verstappen took aim at the Brit on social media, fuming his foe’s post-race celebration was “disrespectful.”

“Glad I’m ok,” Verstappen tweeted. “Very disappointed with being taken out like this. The penalty given does not help us and doesn’t do justice to the dangerous move Lewis made on track. Watching the celebrations while still in hospital is disrespectful and unsportsmanlike behavior but we move on ”

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner, on the other hand, took swipe at Hamilton

According to Horner, it was unbecoming for a world champion like Hamilton to make such “maneuvers” while also describing the Mercedes driver’s victory as “hollow.”

"It shouldn't be like that to be honest with you," Horner told Sky Sports F1 after the race. "Max has incurred a 51G accident, Lewis Hamilton is a world champion and he shouldn't be making maneuvers like that. It's unacceptable.”

"Thank goodness the biggest result for us today is he (Verstappen) was uninjured,” he added. “He's having to go to the hospital for precautionary checks after a 51G accident so I hope Lewis is very happy with himself. I don’t care what Lewis said. Have a look on your own analysis, draw your own comparison; for me, that’s a hollow victory."

To his defense, Hamilton insisted that collisions do happen in races and he didn’t intend to cause one.

"I dummied him [Verstappen], moved to the right for that gap and I was pretty far up alongside him but I then could see he wasn’t going to back out, and we went into the corner, and we collided," Hamilton told reporters after the race.

"Of course, that’s never the way I want to win a race – or in general, to race – but yes, these things do happen,” he added. “I just hope he’s OK and I look forward to many more races."
