Britney Spears desperately wants to remove her dad, Jamie Spears, from her conservatorship, and she has hired a new lawyer to help her realize this, a report has claimed.

The "Toxic" singer previously made a request to hire her own attorney because she was planning to sue her dad for conservatorship abuse. Spears' request was granted and she hired Mathew Rosengart to help her with her motion seeking for Jamie's removal as the conservator of her estate.

"That's her main goal," an unnamed source told People.

The outlet noted that Rosengart will also be asking the court to forgo a mental health evaluation for his client. However, Spears' new lawyer did not respond when People reached out for comment.

Spears was reportedly overjoyed that her request to have a new lawyer was granted. She is hopeful that her new legal counsel could help her end her conservatorship battle.

"She's really happy and excited that she has new representation," the source added. "She feels like she's finally heading towards ending this."

On Wednesday's hearing, Spears told Judge Brenda Penny that she is "extremely scared" of her dad, who stepped down as her personal conservator in late 2019.

"This conservatorship has allowed my dad to ruin my life," she told the court.

The pop princess also told CNN about her plans to sue her dad for allegedly abusing her conservatorship.

"I would like to charge my father with conservatorship abuse," she told the outlet over the phone. "I want to press charges against my father today. I want an investigation into my dad."

Meanwhile, for his part, Jamie blamed Spears' personal conservator Jodi Montgomery for the singer's "difficulties and suffering." He asked the court to investigate his daughter's claim and said that Montgomery's nomination as Spears' conservator was never signed by his daughter and that Spears' "day-to-day personal care and medical treatment" have been handled by Montgomery and not him.

"Mr. Spears, therefore, was greatly saddened to hear of his daughter's difficulties and suffering, and he believes that there must be an investigation into those claims," the filing read.

Meanwhile, Montgomery fired back at Jamie following his allegations. According to her, she has been a "tireless advocate" for Spears and insisted that Jamie had to approve all expenditures.

"Jamie Spears, as conservator of the estate, has a duty to make decisions in the best interests of the estate, and sometimes that has meant requested expenditures have been denied or limited," Montgomery's attorney said in a statement.
