Britney Spears Slams Her 15-Year-Old Son Jayden For 'Hateful' Comments
Britney Spears has slammed her 15-year-old son, Jayden James, for making "hateful" comments about her during a recent interview.
"Jayden, as you undermine my behavior just like my whole family always has with, 'Hope she gets better, I will pray for her' ... Pray for what?" the 40-year-old singer asked on Monday via Instagram. The post was deleted later.
Spears went on to share she keeps "working" in order to pay off the legal fees and the house of her mother, Lynne Spears. The singer further shared the "hateful" remarks made during the "60 Minutes Australia" interview, which was published Sunday, was due to the fear of financial obligations ending soon.
The singer explained she has been paying $40,000 every month to ex-husband Kevin Federline, who was also featured in the interview. She hinted this amount will be paid until the kids turn 18-year-old.
Jayden will celebrate his 16th birthday on Sept. 12, while his brother, Sean Preston, will turn 17-year-old on Sept. 14.
"Do you guys want me to get better so I can continue to give your dad $40,000 a month?" she questioned. "Or is the reasoning behind you guys deciding to be hateful is because it's actually over in two years and you don't get anything?"
The mother of two said in the voice memo she wanted "unconditional love and support," and not comments about her mental state.
"It saddens me not one of you have valued me as a person," she added. "You've witnessed how my family has been to me and that's all you know. Like I said, I feel you all secretly like to say something's wrong with me."
Spears also recalled how she once sat in the kitchen with her two kids and asked, "How come I can't see you guys anymore? Or just see you guys more? I look forward to seeing you guys weekly." She further added her boys responded, "Mama, oh, it'll change."
Spears noted how Jayden and his brother would not spend time with her when they were in the house together. Preston would sleep, while Jayden would be busy playing the piano the whole time, she said, adding that even after she would shower her kids with gifts and amazing food, "it was still never good enough."
While Spears deleted the post from Instagram, an online user shared the voice recording on Twitter.
During the interview, the teenager mentioned he didn't feel comfortable attending his mother's wedding with Sam Asghari because entire family was not invited.
"And then if it was just gonna be me and Preston, I just don't see how that situation would have ended on good terms," Jayden said, Yahoo! News reported.
Jayden also said he was hoping to reunite with his mother after she "[gets] better mentally."
