The Brooklyn police officer who was shot in the head just last week is already walking again, according to the New York Post. 29-year-old Officer Kevin Brennan was shot by Latin King member Luis Baby Ortiz, 21, during a violent encounter at the Bushwick Houses on January 31. He has been recovering at Bellevue Hospital since the incident.

He's up and walking, said Deputy Inspector Michael Kember as he addressed a public meeting last night. It's a miracle.

The doctors were able to remove the bullet from Brennan's skull and they say he is expected to make a full recovery. Both Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Police Commissioner Ray Kelly visited Brennan at the hospital the night Ortiz was detained.
