Bruce Willis Spotted Out And About With Friends After Aphasia Diagnosis

Bruce Willis stepped out with some pals on a sunny day in Malibu, California, this week.

On Thursday, the "Die Hard" actor, 67, was seen casually strolling through the SoCal city after grabbing a meal with his friends, Page Six reported.

During the outing, he dressed comfortably in blue jeans, a long-sleeved shirt, and a blue baseball cap with the letter "B" stitched on the front. He also accessorized with dark shades in the photos obtained by the outlet.

Willis appeared to be in great spirits lately. On Tuesday, his wife, Emma Heming, shared a video of him playing basketball with some of his friends via her Instagram Story.

"I see you, BeeDub," she captioned the clip of Willis shooting the ball through the net.

Willis' latest public sighting came two months after his family announced that he was diagnosed with aphasia. The condition affects one's ability to communicate. It can affect speech and the way one writes and understands spoken and written language, according to the Mayo Clinic.

In the announcement, the Willis family confirmed that the veteran actor has decided to quit acting.

"To Bruce’s amazing supporters, as a family we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities," the family said in a statement posted to Instagram. "As a result of this and with much consideration, Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him."

"This is a really challenging time for our family and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion and support," the statement continued. "We are moving through this as a strong family unit, and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him."

Amid his health struggles, Willis sold nearly $65 million worth of luxury state properties in New York and other states as he wanted to focus on life with his family in California, an unnamed source previously told Page Six.

As he prepared for retirement, the actor realized that he wouldn't need multiple properties and that what was important was to "live in a safe environment surrounded by his family," according to the insider.

"Bruce has been preparing for this moment for a long time. He knew there would be a time, as his health declined when his earning power wouldn't be as great as it once was," the source said.

Willis and Heming share two daughters, Mabel Willis, 10, and Evelyn Willis, 8. He also shares three children with his ex-wife Demi Moore: Rumer, 33, Scout, 30, and Tallulah, 28.

Just recently, Heming shared that taking care of her whole family has affected her mental health and that she's decided to give herself enough time for self-care so she could continue looking after her husband and kids.

"I don’t mother myself perfectly, but I know that I have some basic baseline needs that are a must, like first and foremost, exercise," she told The Bump. "It’s a time I can disconnect and can do something that I know makes me feel good overall. I think it’s important to find that one thing that makes you feel good and build from there."
