"Carpool Karaoke," a recurring segment on "The Late Show with James Corden," where the host drives around Los Angeles with famous musical guests, dropped its latest episode Tuesday of Corden singing along to the popular tunes of K-pop boy band BTS.

Within the 16-minute episode, many jokes were shared between Corden and the band, thanks to translations from shotgun passenger and band member RM, Entertainment Tonight reported. The joke that created an immediate worldwide Twitter trend, however, was when Jimin called Corden “papa mochi,” a reference made to the “mochi” nickname that many BTS fans have given to Jimin because of his pouty face and plush cheeks.

“You're ‘papa mochi,” Jimin said to Corden after his nickname was revealed. Corden then updated Jimin’s nickname to “baby mochi" as the two high-fived.

Both Corden and Jimin continued to play off of the “papa mochi” joke as they drove. Corden asked BTS about fights they’ve had and who is most likely to argue, and the band said Jimin and V. Their usual topic of contention: dumplings.

“Not my little mochi,” Corden said in response. “My little mochi doesn’t argue.”

Corden then drove BTS to a nearby dance studio where they could show off their moves, and where he could jokingly audition to become the eighth band member.

“I want to see papa mocha dance,” Jimin said to Corden.

BTS fans worldwide were immediately pleased by the interactions and Twitter blew up with posts about the episode using the hashtag “#papmochi.” Some users even created fan art.

Others also weighed in on the fact that the hashtag was trending worldwide as well.

“The Late Show” host hopped in on the action himself, changing his Twitter handle to “The Late Show with PAPA MOCHI.”

BTS first launched in 2013 and has been steadily rising in popularity since. They have been performing for audiences in the U.S. since 2014.
