BTS To Hold 4 'Permission To Dance' Shows In Las Vegas In April
BTS has announced that it is taking the highly successful "Permission to Dance on Stage" concert to Las Vegas in April.
The boy band will perform its greatest hits at a four-day affair that will take place at the 65,000-capacity Allegiant Stadium on April 8, 9, 15 and 16. All four shows will be broadcast live on a big screen at MGM Grand Garden Arena's "Live Play" event. The last day of the tour will also be streamed online.
Last year, the "Butter" singers had four sold-out performances at the SoFi stadium in Inglewood, California. Titled "Permission to Dance - LA," the event marked the group's first live concert with an actual audience since its "Love Yourself: Speak Yourself" world tour in October 2019.
The boy band's 2021 So-Fi Stadium run amassed $33.3 million with a total of 214,000 tickets sold. It also became the largest gross for a series of shows at a single venue since 2012, according to Billboard's Boxscore.
Moreover, it was the biggest U.S.-based Boxscore tally in 18 years and the second-biggest ever in Boxcore's history of more than 30 years. It also clinched the No. 6 spot among the highest-grossing musical events Boxscore has ever tracked.
Boxscore tallies the total amount of tickets sold by an entertainment act at a single venue. The tallies are based on reports to Billboard and exclude festivals.
Prior to the announcement of BTS' Las Vegas shows, Big Hit Music revealed that the group will be performing for a live audience in Seoul next month. Set for March 10, 12 and 13, the three-day affair is taking place at the Seoul Olympic Stadium.
BTS will also be attending the 64th Grammy Awards, which is happening at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on April 4. The group has scored a single nomination under the Best Pop Duo/Group category for its track "Butter." The song is up against "Higher Power" by Coldplay, "Kiss Me More" by Doja Cat (Feat. SZA), "I Get a Kick out of You" by Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga and "Lonely" by Justin Bieber and Benny Blanco.
The boy band had its first-ever Grammy nomination last year when "Dynamite" vied for the same award.
