BTS Jimin Breaks Billboard Hot Trending Songs Record With OST 'With You'

BTS member Park Jimin made history as the first and only artist to top the Billboard Hot Trending Songs chart as a soloist and group member at seven weeks.

In the latest update shared by Billboard via Twitter on Wednesday, it revealed that the 26-year-old South Korean pop star secured the number one spot for seven consecutive weeks for his song "With You," a duet with former Wanna One member Ha Sungwoon for the South Korean drama "Our Blues." It also tied with the Filipino pop group SB19's hit single "Bazinga."

The post immediately received over two thousand retweets and numerous comments from fans sending their undying support and congratulations to their favorite recording artist

"With You" consistently rose on the weekly chart since its release last April. It debuted at number two with only four days and ten hours of tracking instead of the usual seven-day period on its first week of release, Allkpop reported.

The OST managed to become the fourth song to rank first in the history of the chart since it launched in October last year. "Permission to Dance" by Jimin and his BTS members RM, Junkook, V, J-Hope, Suga, and Jin was the first song to dominate the chart after getting mentioned 1.15 million times on Twitter since the week of its launch.

The Billboard Hot Trending songs chart is managed by the social media platform Twitter and records a real-time ranking of the most-talked-about songs on the social media platform for 24 hours or the past seven days.

While Jimin became the first artist in the history of the Billboard chart to hit number one as both a soloist and a group member of BTS, it proved the popularity of the song among fans and k-drama lovers.

The "Yet to Come" singer has yet to release an announcement about his solo projects following BTS' hiatus over two months ago to take some time to rest and focus on individual projects. Since then, fellow member J-Hope became the first member to officially debut as a solo singer upon the release of his first solo album "Jack in the Box."

However, the group's fans, known as ARMY, anticipate that Jimin could be making a comeback as a solo artist soon based on a recent post shared on his official Instagram page, hinting that he might be working on new music.

The photo showed the pop star posing with well-known music producers Tommy Brown and Pdogg, who composed and produced music for several artists, including BTS, Jo Kown, 8Eight, and Baek Ji-young.
