BTS' Jimin is following the footsteps of fellow boy band members and will lend his voice for the soundtrack of an upcoming drama series set in South Korea's Jeju Island.

The 26-year-old BTS singer and dancer has been roped in by TV network tvN to sing the official soundtrack for the drama "Our Blues," which stars South Korea superstar Kim Woo-Bin.

"Jimin will be participating as an OST singer for tvN's new Saturday-Sunday drama 'Our Blues.' Since world-class group BTS' Jimin will be joining us, we will energize the drama with a masterpiece OST song that harmonizes well with the flow of the story," an insider from Yamyam Entertainment told Soompi.

"Our Blues" is written by Noh Hee-Kyung, who also wrote other notable Korean dramas such as "That Winter, The Wind Blows," "It's Okay, That's Love," "Dear My Friends" and "Live." The new drama will tell the stories of residents of Jeju Island. The cast also includes Lee Byung-Hun, Shin Min-Ah, Han Ji-Min, Cha Seung-Won, Lee Jung-Eun, Kim Hye-Ja, Go Doo-Shim and Uhm Jung-Hwa.

BTS fans, known as ARMY, celebrated the news on Twitter.

"OMG!!! Jimin is having his first OST in a drama!! I've waited on this for so long…I'm proud of you baby. BTS vocal line so powerful," one user wrote.

Another follower not only raved about Jimin's new solo accomplishment but also on the release of his streaming playlist on Spotify. "OMG Jimin OST coming soon and finally having his own Spotify page!! Ahh he deserves this!! I'm so happy for him," the fan said.

The fans wished the upcoming track to become a certified hit similar to Jin's "Yours," which is still on the top 10 of Billboard's Hot Trending Songs list. One person tweeted, "OMG JIMIN OST IS COMING Man he is coming to end everyone's career, that's it yall had fun right ... Now go back home, Jimin is gonna make sure ain't no one seen on the chart after his OST drops."

Meanwhile, Jimin showed off his new tattoo during BTS' "Permission To Dance" concert in Seoul last week. Eagle-eyed fans spotted a new tattoo behind his ear that says, "Youth," which alludes to an upcoming BTS-inspired drama series from Chorokbaem Media and HYBE Labels.
