BTS is one of the most successful groups in the world, recently reaching another milestone after soaring to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts, and beating the likes of Cardi B and Drake.

With the K-pop superstars gaining new fans every day, there are perhaps some things new Army members don't know about BTS, particularly Jungkook, who turned 23 years old on Tuesday, Sept. 1.

Here are some interesting facts about BTS' main vocalist and youngest member, Jungkook.

Fear of microwaves

"Golden Maknae" Jungkook may be a fine, talented man, but he has fears too. The BTS member once revealed in an interview that he is afraid of microwaves because he thinks they will suddenly explode.

Scar

Jungkook has a relatively visible scar on his left cheek, which he got from fighting with his brother. Apparently, the squabble ensued after they wanted to use the computer at the same time.

Longest shower

Birthday boy Jungkook takes the longest time in the bathroom. His bandmates previously revealed in an interview with Radio Disney that their youngest member spends about 50 minutes in the shower.

Other dreams

BTS has been dominating charts and breaking records, but if he weren’t a successful K-pop star, Jungkook would have been a tattoo artist. That, or a badminton player, Medium reported.

Big appetite

Although it may not seem like it, Jungkook has quite a big appetite, devouring six cups of ramen noodles in one sitting.

Alternative stage name

Before he went with his own name, Jungkook was considering using the stage name “Seagull.”

IU fan

Despite belonging to one of the biggest boy bands in South Korea, Jungkook is just like any other fan who appreciates artists. He is a big fanboy of IU, a singer who has starred in the drama “Hotel del Luna.”

The BTS member has been caught “fanboy-ing” over IU several times over the years. Jungkook has also been vocal about the singer being his ideal woman.

Midas touch

BTS’ Jungkook has also been dubbed as someone with the Midas touch because everything he touches metaphorically turns into gold – that is, whatever he uses, it immediately sells out.

Last year, the K-pop star divulged that he uses a Downy fabric softener, and it sold out.

Emotional

Jungkook does not hold back his emotions, and if he feels crying, he can’t help himself from tearing up. During the first concert of BTS, he broke down on stage as he thanked his fans, explaining later that he couldn’t control his emotions.
