BTS has reached another career milestone.
Over two years ago, the seven-member South Korean pop group released its first-ever English single, "Dynamite." It immediately broke multiple Guinness World Records titles, including the most viewed YouTube video in 24 hours, the most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours and the most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours by a K-pop group.
But the "Dynamite" music video continues to hit new milestones as it surpassed 1.6 billion views on the music streaming platform Tuesday, AllKpop reported.
The upbeat smash-hit became BTS' second music video to reach 1.6 billion views after the band's 2019 collaboration with Halsey, "Boy With Luv."
When the world's biggest boyband, which comprises RM, Suga, Jimin, Jungkook, V, J-Hope and Jin, dropped its English single in August 2020, it racked up 101.1 million views on YouTube within 24 hours, with over 3 million concurrent viewers tuning in to watch the video when it went live at midnight, according to Forbes.
At the time, "Dynamite" beat South Korean pop girl group Blackpink's record for the biggest premiere in YouTube history. Two months prior, the quartet's "How You Like That" garnered 86.3 million views within the first day and drew 1.65 million concurrent viewers during its premiere.
Aside from breaking the world record for YouTube views, "Dynamite" also held the record for most weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 by a K-pop track after spending 32 consecutive weeks on the chart.
The track held the No. 1 spot for at least three weeks and No. 2 for seven weeks and stayed in the top 10 for 13 weeks, according to the Guinness World Records.
"Dynamite" also earned the title for most weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's digital song sales chart, holding the top spot on the chart for about 18 weeks.
A year later, BTS released its second English single, "Butter," which immediately beat "Dynamite's" record within 24 hours of its release. The music video garnered 108.2 million views in a day and became the biggest music video premiere on YouTube with 3.9 million concurrent viewers.
"Butter" currently has 829.5 million views on the music streaming platform.
