Burned Body in Dallas Identified as Elizabeth Lightfoot
Police identified the woman found dead in a burning car Friday morning as Elizabeth Lightfoot. The Dallas County Medical Examiner has not yet determined a cause of death because the 22-year-old's body was too badly burned.
Lightfoot's body was found around 2:30 a.m. in north Dallas. Firefighters were called to the 16000 block of Preston road because a small silver Mazda sedan was on fire in a ravine, reported the Dallas Morning News. After putting out the fire, firefighters found a body in the driver's seat and contacted police authorities.
Lightfoot allegedly lived in Denton, but worked at a north Dallas hair salon less than a mile from the ravine where she died.
It is not yet clear how or why Lightfoot's car was set on fire. However, homicide detectives are investigating what happened to Lightfoot prior to her death.
Authorities ask that anyone who may have seen or noticed at or near that location overnight to call the Dallas Police Homicide Unit at 214-671-3661 or use the iWatchDallas.net app on their smart phone.
