California Woman Cuts Off Husband's Penis, Says He Deserved It

It's Lorena Bobbitt redux: A California woman performed penis removal surgery on her estranged husband yesterday, and she's not sorry.

Catherine Kieu Becker, 48, was taken into custody on Monday night after allegedly drugging her husband, slicing off his penis, and grinding it in the garbage disposal.

Becker put something in her 51-year old husband's food that would knock him out, waited for him to fall asleep, and went to town.

The man, who remains unidentified, told police he laid down in bed after dinner, believing that he had eaten something tainted. He later woke up to find his wife tugging at his clothes, but he did not act fast enough to stop her from slicing off his member.

After Becker was taken into custody, she told police that her husband deserved it. The couple is believed to have been going through a divorce.

Becker's husband remains in serious condition after undergoing emergency sugery at a local hospital. It is unclear if the surgery involved an attempt to re-attach what remained of his penis.

Becker is facing charges of aggravated mayhem, false imprisonment, assault with a deadly weapon, administering a drug with intent to commit a felony, poisoning and spousal abuse.

In 1993, Lorena Bobbitt severed the penis of her husband John Wayne Bobbitt, claiming that he raped her after coming home drunk. John was acquitted of rape charges and his penis was re-attached succesfully. Lorena Bobbitt was found not guilty by reason insanity. The couple divorced in 1995.
