“Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War” Beta is fast approaching but ahead of its release, the game’s lead designer shared some exciting details that make the upcoming build stand out from the alpha build.
On his official Twitter account, Treyarch’s Designer Tony Flame shared that the “Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War” Beta would be a significant step up than the multiplayer alpha. He mentioned about improvements and new features to the core feel.
The upcoming beta would be a totally separate download and alpha users could now delete their downloads, Flame noted. The “Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War” alpha started on September 18 and run for 48 hours. The game’s build featured different 6v6 and 12v12 multiplayer modes over five maps.
Activision earlier revealed that the pre-release was the most downloaded Alpha or Beta in the “COD” franchise history. However, some fans are not happy with it. There are several areas in “Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War” alpha build that fans criticized.
This includes the aggressive skill-based matchmaking. Later the developer noted that this particular area could be adjusted. Activision recently confirmed plans to launch an open beta beginning on October 8. One of the major changes in “Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War” multiplayer is the lack of Specialists, which was seen in the previous couple of “Black Ops” titles.
Field Upgrades like Jammer and Field Mic will be in the game along with Scorestreaks and Wildcards. PlayStation 4 pre-order customers are the first ones to gain access to the beta. This will be followed by the general PS4 players starting October 10 and all other pre-order customers on October 15.
The general access will commence on October 17. The upcoming game “Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War” is slated to launch on November 13 for next-generation gaming consoles’ PS5 and Xbox Series X. It will also launch on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
