More than 50,000 “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2” fans want to see Activision’s first-person shooter on Sony’s PlayStation 4 and Microsoft’s Xbox One. An online petition created four days ago on Change.org already has more than 50,000 supporters.

The petition was created by Ramez Zahra. “I speak for every one when I say that ‘Modern Warfare 2’ was one of Activision's best games,” he said in a letter to developer Activision and publisher Infinity Ward. “Just a fun & enjoyable game that really gives you that nostalgic feeling. The guns, maps, kill streaks were just incredible.”

“Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2” launched in November 2009 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Mac and Windows PC. It was released in four versions for the Xbox 360 and PS3 – standard, hardened, veteran and prestige.

The title received a 94/100 on Metacritic and sold just under 10 million copies in the U.S. within five months.

This isn’t the first time gamers have rallied to get their favorite game on a specific platform. In January 2014, a Change.org petition asked New York City-based developer Rockstar Games to launch action-adventure game “Grand Theft Auto 5” on the PC. The petition gained more than 700,000 supporters, and Rockstar announced that “GTA 5” would be coming to the PC in late March of this year. “GTA 5” also launched on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One last year.
