'Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered' Is Getting 4 Additional Maps In New DLC This Month
“Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered” is getting DLC maps later this month. Called the Variety Map Pack, the DLC includes four maps that were originally released back in 2008.
“The Variety Map Pack contains some of the most epic maps in ‘Modern Warfare’ history, allowing you to experience four classic locations in all of their remastered glory across a range of different environments,” Activision said on its blog. The four DLC maps included in “Modern Warfare Remastered’s” Variety Pack are Broadcast, Chinatown, Creek and Killhouse.
Broadcast is set in the same TV station from the “Charlie Don’t Surf” campaign, while Chinatown is a re-imagined version of the classic “Call of Duty” map Carentan. Creek is set in a village that’s divided into two by a ravine, and Killhouse is a small-sized map set inside a warehouse filled with obstacles and is intended for close-quarters combat.
The Variety Map Pack DLC for “Modern Warfare Remastered” is set to arrive on the PlayStation 4 first on March 21, and it has a suggested retail price of $14.99. The upcoming DLC will also include 10 Rare Supply Drops which could normally be unlocked by accomplishing certain goals or by spending real money.
The original Variety Map Pack was released back in April 2008 and was sold for $10. At the time, it was first made available on Microsoft’s Xbox 360. The only real major difference of the new Variety Map Pack for “Modern Warfare Remastered” is that all four maps have been remastered and are in full HD as well. It’s important to note that “Modern Warfare Remastered” is only available on the Legacy Edition of “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare” as a digital download.
For those who have purchased the “Infinite Warfare” season pass, they will still have to cough up the additional $14.99 to get the Variety Map Pack, according to Game Zone. As for gamers on the Xbox One and the PC, the DLC should be made available to them at a later date.
