'Call of Duty: Warzone' Gets Big Update 1 Week After Launch

“Call of Duty: Warzone” is getting a new mode, and it means players can now go to war solo!

The game developers made the big reveal on Twitter, announcing the arrival of solo mode in the week-old game.

When the game was launched on March 10, it has only the trios mode. However, gamers now have the option to play alone. It is worth noting, though, that those who would choose the solo mode option could fight teams that have three players in it.

If players want to avoid fighting at such a huge disadvantage, they can participate in the Battle Royale Solos where it would be an even playing field.

In order for players to play solo, they can disable the squad filling.

What Does It Mean For Players?

In their official statement and strategy guide, game developer Activision highlighted the difficulty (and challenge of going solo). It was particularly emphasized that when a solo player dies, there are no squadmates to buy them back.

The soloists can earn their way back through the Gulag or purchase/find self-revival kits. Nonetheless, doing so is not an easy task as well.

On a positive note, playing solo will help players improve their fundamentals of the game. As Activision pointed out, “solo games are a good option for players who want to train up on weapons, equipment, perks and map knowledge.”

The devs noted that playing solo is like a “trial by fire” that can help gamers get more experience and master and ins and outs of the game while improving their strategizing skills.

Is It Permanent?

There is no official word whether the mode is included in the game on a permanent basis or for just a specific period of time.

However, the new update – which comes just a week after the game’s release – shows that Activision is fully supporting it.

The latest update also raises hopes that more team options will come to the game in the future – perhaps not just three-person squads.

The game has garnered more than 15 million players in just the first three days of its release, and that number is expected to increase in the coming weeks.

“Call of Duty: Warzone” is available on PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One.
