Nicole Richie and Cameron Diaz are sisters-in-law now, but there was a point where Richie was just a big fan of Diaz. The latter revealed that Richie is “obsessed” with the 1997 movie “My Best Friend’s Wedding.”

During Entertainment Weekly’s reunion for the “My Best Friend’s Wedding” cast, Diaz revealed that Richie took her on a trip back to the movie’s filming locations.

“My sister-in-law [Nicole Richie] is obsessed with this movie. We went to Chicago, like, a year and a half ago, and she took me to every single [location],” Diaz explained. “She’s like, ‘Remember when you were walking down the street right here and then…’ It was so much fun. I was like, ‘Yes, I think I do.’ She’s like, ‘I do, and it really means a lot to me, so I would like for you to pretend like you do.’”

Diaz married Benji Madden in 2015 while Richie married Joel Madden in 2010. It seems the two have grown close over the years. Life & Style reports that the two recently had a girls’ night out at Eataly in Los Angeles where they were trying to plan a vacation.

“You can tell their friendship is genuine and not just for show as they were talking about how they’d missed their weekly get-togethers,” a witness said.

While Diaz hasn’t been on screen since 2014’s “Annie” remake, Richie has taken more comedic acting roles in recent years. She was a regular on “Great News” for two seasons and has made guest appearances on TV shows like “Grace and Frankie” and “Camping.”
