Camila Cabello Looks Downcast In First Public Outing Since Shawn Mendes Split

Glum photos of Camila Cabello have surfaced following her split from Shawn Mendes. The 24-year-old singer stepped out Monday for a shopping trip in Los Angeles, seemingly teary-eyed and raw with emotion.

The photos showed Cabello looking a bit downcast as she walked along Melrose Avenue. She strolled down the famous West Hollywood street in a fashionable vibrant red dress with ruffled details and buttons down the front. She matched her dress with a pair of black sandals and carried a large knitted tote bag over her shoulder.

Cabello also wore sunglasses at some point, hiding what seemed to be teary eyes. Some photos also showed her with her head down, letting her long brown hair cover her face. Her dress was the same one she wore in an Instagram album she posted on Tuesday, where she declared it her “uniform.”

The outing comes a week after she and Mendes announced their split in a joint statement on Nov. 17. The two had been longtime friends before they confirmed their romance in 2019.

In their joint statement, the former pair said they had decided to end their romantic relationship but promised their fans that their “love for one another” would remain strong. “We’ve decided to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever,” they said in their statement. “We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends. We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward,” they added.

In an interview this week, Cabello revealed how anxiety has taken its toll on her relationship with Mendes. “I felt so anxious, cripplingly anxious,” she said. “I just felt really unstable, and I just felt a mess because suddenly, this thing that distracted me, my work and filming, was not there, and so I was just left with my anxiety and my mind,” she explained.
