Can Disinfectant Cleaners Really Kill The Coronavirus? EPA Approves COVID-19 Cleaning Products

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has published a list of approved disinfectants to fight the coronavirus. The list indicates what disinfectants can kill the virus, SARS-CoV-2, a coronavirus that causes COVID-19, the EPA said.

The EPA also strongly recommends that users of the disinfectants follow the guidelines on the product label for use and use the longest duration or most concentrated solution recommended by the product manufacturer.

While the EPA-approved coronavirus disinfectants list does provide several options for fighting COVID-19, the agency said that there may be additional disinfectants that meet the criteria for use against the virus. The EPA will update the list with additional products as information becomes available.
