Can Kate Middleton Still Take Regular Jobs Like Princess Eugenie, Other Royals?
Kate Middleton is unlikely to take regular jobs.
The Duchess of Cambridge had regular jobs before she married Prince William. Middleton used to work at her family’s business, Party Pieces. In addition, she landed a job with the British retailer Jigsaw. However, she left both jobs when she decided to join the royal family.
According to Kathryn Knight, a journalist for Express, Middleton is unlikely to be allowed to take regular jobs as she’s the future Queen Consort. It’s unlikely for the royal mom of three to venture back into the working class and take on an ordinary job as she is also a full-time royal. She has a lot of charities and royal engagements to attend to.
Meanwhile, there are a number of royals who continue with their regular jobs. Princess Eugenie, for instance, still works as a director at Hauser & Wirth, a contemporary art gallery in Mayfair, London. The royal has been working at the gallery since the summer of 2015. She started as an associate director and was promoted to the position of director in 2017.
Prince Andrew reportedly asked Queen Elizabeth II to make his daughters Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice full-time royals. He wanted his children to be paid from the public purse. Unfortunately for the Duke of York, the monarch denied his request.
Aside from Princess Eugenie, there are still a lot of royals with regular jobs. Prince Edward works as a production assistant at a theater company after serving with the royal navy. Peter Phillips worked as a corporate hospitality manager at Jaguar after graduating from university. Phillips now runs his own sports management company.
Prior to being full-time royals, Prince William and Prince Harry also took ordinary jobs. The Duke of Cambridge worked as a helicopter pilot for the East Anglian Air Ambulance for two years. Prince Harry was a soldier for the British Army.
Prince Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, was a former actress. She catapulted to fame on USA Network’s hit legal series “Suits.” However, Markle put her acting career behind when she decided to marry Prince Harry.
