A former New York Knick has claimed that Carmelo Anthony will score 25 points per game in today's league.

Anthony’s chase for another shot in the NBA has been arguably the most controversial issue this summer. Earlier this month, the 10-time All Star revealed that he and his reps have been consistently reaching out to NBA teams, including the LA Lakers.

Despite being unsigned, former New York Knick Enes Kanter is convinced that Anthony can still significantly contribute in today’s league. In a recent media scrum, Kanter talked about Anthony’s case. According to Kanter, the former Knicks superstar can still score “25 points” at any given time if he was currently playing.

“He (Anthony) can score the ball anytime. He can get 22 to 25 [points] every game. So I think he’s definitely a very special player. I feel like he still belongs in the NBA. He should definitely be in the NBA,” Kanter said.

Kanter also described how hard it was to guard a lethal scorer like Anthony. In his own words, the 27-year-old center regarded his experience defending Anthony as similar to “a nightmare.”

Looking back at how Anthony parted ways with the NBA, the Houston Rockets found him irrelevant and decided to let go of him. Shortly after Rockets released Anthony, three-time NBA champ Dwayne Wade took to social media his thoughts about the matter.

Based on Wade’s assessment, Anthony can still contribute but the Rockets chose to put the blame on him because that was the easy way out.

Just recently, a different angle about Anthony’s NBA chase surfaced. Former NBA players Royce White and Stephen Jackson were both convinced that Anthony is being “blackballed” by the NBA.

Jackson uploaded a video of him defending his stand about the issue. According to Jackson, he, along with Anthony and other NBA stars were all blackballed by the league.

“Let me say this. Me, A.I., and a couple other players. They (NBA) trying to blackball Melo. Why? The season just starting, why they coming up and saying ‘your time with the team is almost up,’ and the season’s just starting? You see what I’m saying? They trying to blackball Melo and push him out of the league and make sure it looks like he can’t play no more, or make sure it looks like every team he goes to he’s a problem or he’s a cancer on the team in the locker room. Which is so far from being true,” Jackson pointed out.
