USA cricket team's bowler Hayden Walsh registered his maiden five-wicket haul in T20s, as he bagged 5 for 19, and guided Barbados Tridents to a 63-run victory over Trinbago Knight Riders in a Carribean Premier League (CPL) 2019 match on Friday.

In the same match, Walsh's teammate and South Africa's star all-rounder, JP Duminy smashed CPL's fastest fifty. Duminy recorded the fifty off just 15 balls before he went on to score 65 off 20 balls. Duminy's quick-fire half-century along with a fifty each from the openers helped Tridents to post 192 for 5 in the first innings.

Tridents won the toss and opted to bat first against Knight Riders in their CPL clash at Bridgetown's Kensington Oval Stadium. Their openers, Johnson Charles and Jonathan Carter, scored 110 runs in 14 overs to set the tone for their side. The rest of the job was done by the Proteas player who hammered seven sixes and four fours and guided his side to a commanding total of 192.

In the second innings, Tridents' skipper, Jason Holder and Harry Gurney bagged a wicket each to see off the Knight Riders' openers inside five overs. Even when the visitors had 44 runs on the board in 3.3 overs, the other batsmen failed to capitalize on the start. After two more wickets fell, the Knight Riders needed as many as 112 runs from the last 10 overs. Out of the final seven wickets that fell, five belonged to Walsh.

The American produced some terrific bowling in his quota of four overs. His five wickets included three scalps in four balls before he ended with figures of 5 for 19. After seven matches each, Barbados, with three victories and four defeats, remain fourth on the points table of CPL 2019, while Knight Riders are on the second spot with four wins and two losses.
