Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift Glisten on CMA Awards 2011 Red Carpet [PHOTOS]
Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift were just two of the many stunning starlets who brought some mega-watt glitz to the CMA Awards 2011 red carpet Wednesday night.
Underwood was a golden goddess in her first ensemble of the night, a glittering gold Reem Acra gown. She complemented the dress with gold accessories, like a clutch, diamond bracelet, and drop earrings.
The country cutie co-hosted the annual awards show alongside singer Brad Paisley.
Many felt that the two did a fantastic job, and could not think of any better duo to pull off the job.
Haven't they become quite a dynamic duo? I can't think of any pair I'd rather see overseeing an awards show. They're funny and saucy without being mean, and they keep the show moving, writes Grady Smith of Entertainment Weekly.
Underwood and Paisley were even a bit saucy, poking fun at Hank Williams, Jr. and Kim Kardashian.
Taylor Swift was another stunner of the night, looking lovely in a flowing white gown J. Mendel gown.
Swift was honored with the Entertainer of the Year Award, after releasing her album Speak in late Oct. 2010.
Swift's accomplishments range from introducing country music to the Far East, racking up hits worldwide, and maintaining her position as one of the hottest young country music stars to ever grace the stage. She is the second woman in the history of the CMA Awards to win an Entertainer of the Year Award twice, according to FOX News.
This is thanks to all the fans who filled the stadiums and arenas all over the world this year, said Swift, who leaped from her seat with her hands in the air and jumped for joy. I am so happy we had so many to play for this year. You have made my year, she said during her acceptance speech.
Females ruled the awards show this year, taking home some of the most coveted awards of the night.
When Taylor won entertainer I secretly sang [Beyonce's] 'Who runs the world? Girls,' to Blake, Miranda Lambert said to husband Blake Shelton, after the two took home the awards for male and female vocalists of the year.
I'm just really happy that females are starting to be very prominent and it is the female singer-songwriter.
These female superstars brought country glamor Wednesday night, showing the world that they do not just have exceptional talent but beauty as well.
The CMA Awards 2011 red carpet certainly had no shortage of glitter. Think sequins, rhinestones, and more sequins this year.
Stars ranging from Hillary Scott and Miranda Lambert, to Laura Bell Bundy and Erin Andrews shimmered in glittering dresses in a rainbow of colors. The eye-catching beauties made sure to make that red carpet shine.
