After an 8.9 earthquake hit Japan just off the northeastern city of Sendai, which triggered a tsunami and caused more than 300 people to lose their lives, celebrities offered their condolences, prayers and support via Twitter. The earthquake struck Japan at 12:46 EST. A number of celebrities, like Alyssa Milano, Will.i.am and Kate Walsh have been constantly updated their feed on the social media site. A number of others have also reached out to Japan via tweets. #prayforjapan quickly became a Trending Topic on Twitter. Other Trending Topics include #tsunami #TextREDCROSS and #Tokyo Disneyland.
