Several celebrities confirmed that they tested positive for coronavirus.
The coronavirus outbreak continues and it is affecting more more and more public figures worldwide. Us Weekly compiled the names of the popular personalities who are affected by the disease.
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson
The “Cast Away” actor confirmed on Twitter that he and his wife Rita Wilson tested positive for coronavirus. He said that they took the test after feeling unwell.
Authorities said that the couple might have gotten the virus outside of Australia. Queensland officials relayed this message in a statement they released after Hanks posted their diagnosis on Twitter. According to them, the new patients are non-contact cases and could have “contracted the illness outside Australia and traveled to Queensland with the virus.”
Idris Elba
The “Luther” actor also confirmed that he tested positive for coronavirus on Monday via Twitter. He decided to get tested after learning that he was exposed to someone who turned out to be positive with coronavirus. He encouraged everyone to practice social distancing and transparency and solidarity.
Kristofer Hivju
The “Game of Thrones” star announced on Instagram that he tested positive for coronavirus. He said that he and his family are self-isolating and are in good health.
“Please take care of each other, keep your distance, and stay healthy! Please visit your country's Center for Disease Control's website, and follow the regulations for staying safe and protecting not just yourselves, but our entire community, and especially those at risk like the elderly and people with pre-existing conditions,” Hivju added.
Kevin Durant
NBA superstar Kevin Durant is one of the four Booklyn Nets team members who tested positive for the novel coronavirus. “Everyone be careful. Take care of yourself and quarantine. We’re going to get through this,” he said about the pandemic.
Sophie Grégoire Trudeau
Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s wife has also tested positive for coronavirus. Trudeau’s office confirmed the news. Sophie was reportedly “experiencing uncomfortable symptoms of the virus.” Meanwhile, Trudeau is “in good health with no symptoms,” but he would still be in isolation for up to 14 days.
Olga Kurylenko
The James Bond movie “Quantum of Solace” actress confirmed this past Sunday that she’s coronavirus-positive. She said that she has been ill for almost a week and shared that the main symptoms were fever and fatigue. “Take care of yourself and do take this seriously,” she said.
Rachel Matthews
The “Frozen 2” voice star announced in her Instagram Stories on Monday that she tested positive for Coronavirus. She has been quarantined for a week. According to her, she experienced shortness of breath, mild fever and loss of appetite. “Now is the time to be smart and responsible. Let’s take care of one another!!” she wrote.
