“Celebrity Big Brother” Season 3 may be in danger of being axed.

In recent weeks, host Julie Chen has been dropping cryptic clues about the future of the hit CBS reality TV show, and it’s not looking good.

Last month, Chen uploaded a photo on her Instagram account featuring the famous Diary Room, which led fans to think that a new spinoff will be released in the coming months.

But when the host started wearing the attire of some of the former celebrity houseguests, fans of “Celebrity Big Brother” thought that she was hinting about the upcoming season.

However, Chen’s contract with CBS has just been renewed. And there’s no mention about her hosting the hit reality TV show’s spinoff. Deadline also released a statement saying that there is no confirmation yet on whether Season 3 will push through or not.

“No official word yet whether "Celebrity Big Brother" also will be back early next year nor whether Chen Moonves will be fronting the third season of that spinoff. However, while not totally dead, all indications are that "CBB" will not be on the CBS calendar in 2020. The spinoff was not a part of Chen Moonves’ new package with the network,” the publication said.

And to make things worse, CBS doesn’t have “Celebrity Big Brother” on its winter lineup. The first two seasons of the reality TV show aired early 2017 and 2018, which means that they both aired in the winter.

However, there is still hope for renewal for “Celebrity Big Brother” Season 2. Last year, it also took some time before CBS announced that the spinoff will return. In fact, fans also thought that the second season won’t be a go because Chen hasn’t made any announcement yet.

Additionally, Chen’s husband, Les Moonves, was involved in a scandal that forced him to resign last year. As such, fans thought that his wife will also be resigning from the “Big Brother” franchise, but she didn’t.
