‘The Challenge: Battle Of The Bloodlines’ Finale Synopsis Teases What’s Ahead For MTV Finalists In Episode 13
The war is far from over. On Wednesday’s episode of MTV’s “The Challenge: Battle of the Bloodlines" the last three teams kicked off the finals with a grueling challenge in Berlin. Next week’s installment, “Family Matters,” will show the contestants continuing their journey in an effort to be awarded the “Bloodlines” winners.
According to the network’s synopsis for episode 13, the competitors are in for a long and grueling final in the second half. The summary reveals the remaining teams – Cara Maria and Jamie, Jenna and Brianna, and Cory and Mitch – “must endure a series of demanding checkpoints as they battle each other all day and all night.” In other words, it looks like the competitors won’t be sleeping in the Season 27 final.
As host TJ Lavin revealed in episode 12, the winners, who will be “crowned” in the Feb. 17 episode, will receive the grand prize of $350,000. The second-place winners will walk away with $75,000 and the last-place team will get $25,000.
While MTV isn’t revealing all of the checkpoints the finalists will have to endure, the details of one stomach-turning event have been announced. The last few seconds of episode 12 showed that Jenna’s worst nightmare will be coming true: she will have to eat some seriously gross food in order to walk away with a cash prize. One of the things on the menu appears to be blood soup, a clear play on the “Bloodlines” theme this season.
The one hour and two minute finale, airing Wednesday at 10 p.m. EST on MTV, will be immediately followed by the "Bloodlines" reunion special. MTV has revealed the cast will touch on “hook ups, fights” and Cara Maria’s rocky relationship with Abram. If you’re still looking for more “Challenge” drama, make sure to tune in to “The S#!@ They Should Have Shown” Thursday at 12:03 a.m. EST, which will show never-before-seen footage from the season.
