Charlie Puth Responds To Buzz About His AMAs Kiss With Meghan Trainor, Says It Was ‘Very Fun’
Singer Charlie Puth is adamant that he and Meghan Trainor are just friends, but that doesn't mean he didn't enjoy making out with her at their 2015 American Music Awards (AMAs) performance Sunday night. As previously reported, Puth and Trainor took the stage at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles to perform a medley of songs, including "Like I'm Gonna Lose You" and "Marvin Gaye.” The pair ended the performance by locking lips.
The kiss lasted more than 10 seconds and sparked rumors that the two singers were dating. Following the American Music Awards, a TMZ photographer caught up with the 23-year-old "One Call Away" singer and asked him what his makeout session with Trainor was like.
"The making out on stage was very real," Puth said, adding that it was "very fun."
Shortly after the live performance aired, Puth took to Twitter to shut down rumors that he was dating the "Dear Future Husband" singer.
Trainor also squashed the dating rumors and posted a photo of the kiss on her Instagram, writing, "All about dat a-- grab doe @charlieputh proud of you Charlie #imsingle.”
In April, Trainor opened up to MTV about having to kiss Puth at the end of their "Marvin Gaye" music video and said the entire process was awkward.
“There were like, 40 people there and his parents were in the green room, and so we had to make out a bunch of times,” she explained. “Everyone was cheering because I was so good at it, and we went back to the green room and I was like, ‘What’s up Mom and Dad?’ So awkward.”
