An online model in Upson County, Georgia accidentally shot her private part with a gun while recording a "sexual" video for her subscribers earlier this month, police said.
The Upson County Sheriff's Office (UCSO) responded to a report of an "accidental gunshot wound" in a residence located along 95 Manly Road in Thomaston shortly past 12 noon on Nov. 9, The Smoking Gun reported, citing an incident report written by deputy Zachary Wall.
Wall encountered a paramedic upon arriving at the scene, who was holding a handgun as well as a spent bullet casing in her hands, and was told that a "female had shot herself in her vagina, accidentally," according to the document.
Police reportedly determined that the 27-year-old shooting victim, Lauren Hunter Daman, was alone inside her bedroom when the gun discharged.
The owner of the firearm — a resident of the home identified as Jordan Allen — told authorities that he "was in the kitchen walking back to the bedroom when he heard the gun go off" and that he "observed a small amount of blood on [Lauren's] leg" upon arriving in the bedroom.
Allen later explained that Daman had "subscribers" on a sexual web platform called "Chatter" and that she "makes sexual videos of herself and people pay her to see them," police said. He believed Daman "was recording a video at the time the gun went off."
The web platform Allen was referring to was the adult site Chaturbate, which lets models receive "tips" from viewers in return for performing requested sex acts, according to The Smoking Gun report. It was unclear whether Daman was broadcasting live or recording a video that would be uploaded to the platform when the gun discharged.
Addie Ruth Johnson, another witness of the incident who had a medical background, tended to Daman's injury after the incident.
Daman was transported to a hospital in Macon via a helicopter. She was released this week.
The gun used in the incident was placed in evidence and turned over to the UCSO along with a magazine, unspent bullet and spent casing.
Police classified the shooting as "reckless conduct," and so it was unlikely to result in criminal charges, sheriff Dan Kilgore said.
Daman's account of the shooting fluctuated during police interviews and she claimed at one point that the accidental discharge occurred during a consensual sex act with Allen, according to Kilgore.
