Child Crawls Through White House Fence Triggering Security Concern
A small child was able to crawl through the White House fence, causing a security concern for the White House Secret Service on Thursday night.
According to the tweets of Mark Knoller, CBS News’ White House correspondent, the crawling child triggered a security alert at about 8 p.m. by gaining access to the White House’s North Lawn before Secret Service returned the child to the parents.
"We were going to wait until he learned to talk to question him, but in lieu of that he got a timeout and was sent on way with parents," Secret Service spokesman Edwin Donovan said, according to the White House pool report.
