Chloe Bailey received a special gift from her mentor Beyonce following her performance at the 2022 BET Awards on Sunday.
The rising R&B singer shared a photo of the flowers sent by Beyonce on her Twitter page Tuesday which came with a handwritten note that read, “You killed it last night! Making me proud. All my love, B.”
In the awards show, Chloe sang a mash-up of her latest singles "Surprise" and "Treat Me” at the Microsoft theater in Los Angeles.
She stepped out on stage in a shiny black coat with a squad of backup dancers in matching black attire. The 23-year-old sang, “If you be good to me, then I'ma be great to you/If you stay down for me, then I'll stay awake for you” while tapping the backside of her dancer.
She also delivered a surprise lap dance to a blindfolded man on stage after she ditched her coat revealing a barely-there black sexy piece. Bailey gyrated on stage with her backup dancers who had also shed their coats for leotards. The singer channeled Janet Jackson when she transitioned to her second song and said, "My name is Chlöe. Miss Bailey if you nasty."
The “Forgive Me” singer was nominated for best R&B/pop artist in this year’s BET Awards. Her music video for “Have Mercy” was also nominated for video of the year and the song also earned her a nomination for the BET Her Award.
Bailey and her younger sister, Halle - who forms one-half of their sister duo, Chlöe x Halle were also nominated for best group.
Before becoming Beyonce’s protégé, Chloe appeared in the film “The Fighting Temptations” in 2003 as the young version of her mentor's character Lilly.
Chlöe x Halle became famous on YouTube for their viral song covers including Beyonce’s "Best Thing I Never Had" and "Pretty Hurts."
In 2015, Beyonce signed the duo to Parkwood Entertainment which she formed in 2010. In 2016, the siblings appeared in a cameo in Beyonce’s visual album, “Lemonade." The sisters also released their first EP titled, “Sugar Symphony" in the same year.
