Chris Brown Death Threats: Artist Performs At Billboard Awards Despite LAPD Investigation
Chris Brown is receiving death threats and the singer is not taking them lightly, as police are currently investigating the situation. The 24-year-old singer’s attorney, Mark Geragos, was called numerous times and threats were made against Brown’s life, reports confirmed on Sunday.
Geragos, according to TMZ, filed a police report with the Los Angeles Police Department. It is unclear what the specific threats were.
Brown seemed to be in good spirits despite the threats, as he performed Sunday night at the Billboard Music Awards. Singing his latest hit, “Fine China,” while dressed in a black suit, the performer also showed off his dancing and fighting moves. The song is the first single off his upcoming album "X.”
Meanwhile, ex-girlfriend Rihanna was a no-show at the awards, though she won big, with four awards. She won in the R&B artist, album and song categories, in addition to Radio Songs Artist.
Rihanna and Brown called it quits yet again earlier this month. “The way I look at it is ... I’m always going to love that person, but people have differences, and people have different wants and needs,” Brown said in an interview on “The Kyle & Jackie O” radio show.
“At the end of the day, [Rihanna’s] a young girl. I can’t really be focused on wife-ing somebody that young ... and I’m young too [sic],” he admitted. “I just got to step forward and be a man and be the best Chris Brown I can be, instead of worrying about whoever else is going to be in my side pocket.”
