Chris Brown Pick-Up: 'I Promise I Won't Beat You' Really?
It seems that Chris Brown's stampede of negative press isn't going to let up anytime soon. Reports have emerged that the famed domestic abuser is now picking up women by pledging not to hit them. According to Jezebel, the singer's newest pick-up line is I promise I won't beat you. The story doesn't necessarily seem all that factual but tabloids and celeb gossip columns have eaten it up. Brown allegedly hit on a woman (no pun intended) during the Grammy's by stating Can I get your number? I promise I won't beat you!
US Weekly reports that the proposition was met with laughs from his entourage, who found the singer's opening statement amusing. Yet it seems that the woman, who has only been only been identified as an attractive brunette, was thoroughly unimpressed with Brown's advances and quickly sold her story to the media.
Regardless of the reports accuracy, Brown has been facing a hailstorm of bad publicity since his confrontation with then girlfriend Rihanna turned violent in 2009. At this year's Grammys, many felt that it was unethical that he was allowed to perform at the awards show. The public took to Twitter to protest Brown's attendance, he snapped back with angry ranks, which were later deleted.
