Chris Brown, Rihanna Update: What The ‘Loyal’ Singer’s Ex-Girlfriend Told Him Before 2015 BET Awards: Report
It’s been a rocky road since Chris Brown and Rihanna broke up, but they appear to be in a better place years after their tumultuous relationship ended. Before Brown performed at the BET Awards at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, Rihanna had some words for her ex-boyfriend: good luck.
Even though the “Four Five Seconds” singer reportedly didn’t walk the red carpet because she didn’t want to bump into Brown, she supported him in private. “Rihanna didn’t walk the red carpet, but she did see Chris backstage to watch his rehearsal,” an insider told Hollywood Life in an exclusive report Monday. “It was very brief and absolutely no one was allowed back there to see them. She told him to have a good show, watched about a minute or two of the rehearsal, and then left.” Brown and Rihanna broke up for good in 2013. Years earlier, he brutally attacked her before the Grammy Awards. The assault erased his then-squeaky-clean image, and thus blossomed the troubled Brown fans know today.
But the "Diamonds" singer wasn't the only one who wanted to avoid Brown. Karrueche Tran, his most recent ex, also reportedly tried to stay away from the “Ayo” star at the music awards show. “One of her girlfriends said, ‘You know Chris is down there.’ And Karrueche literally said, ‘You can sit me at the top [of the area they were seated in] because I don’t want to see his a--,” a source told Hollywood Life in a different report.
After months of fans speculating whether they would get back together, it appears they are done for good. Rumors recently swirled that Tran wanted to date "Orange Is the New Black" actress Ruby Rose after she said that she had a girl crush and then was spotted with Rose in Los Angeles the following week, but the Australian beauty is engaged. Instead, Rose explained they might work together one day.
