Karrueche Tran-Chris Brown Update: Former Lovers Avoid Run-In At BET Awards; 'Loyal' Singer 'Thankful' For Royalty

Chris Brown made sure that he did not come face-to-face with former girlfriend Karrueche Tran at the 2015 BET Awards at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, Hollywood Life reported. It was a big event for the “Loyal” singer who bagged two awards and performed twice.

Since the time Brown hit the red carpet he reportedly made sure he did not run into Tran, who was also present at the event. He avoided the media and only stopped for a few photographs at the event, according to Hollywood Life. A source previously told the publication that Brown did not want to see the 27-year-old model at the event as it would “kill his energy and ruin the whole d--- night.”

Tran broke up with Brown in March after she discovered that he had a child with model Nia Guzman. Brown, who tried to win back Tran after their split, is reportedly moving on after being rejected several times.

In his speech at the BET Awards on Sunday, Brown spoke publicly about his mistakes, and his daughter Royalty. The 26-year-old singer won the best male R&B/pop artist and the Fandemonium awards.

“A lot has changed in my life, a lot of mistakes, a lot of lessons learned. The best thing, I’m most thankful for is my daughter. At the end of the day, love is love. I love everybody,” Brown reportedly said. “My fans, when I was in jail, ‘Loyal’ was number one. Last year, I was fat on this stage, dancing, trying to get my stuff together but right now I can only say I’m so thankful and happy to have the loyal fans in Team Breezy right now, because without y’all, I can’t do my music. Everyone that’s here that know me, to know me, is to love me. If you ain’t with us, so what? I love y’all.”

Tran also reportedly did not want to see Brown at the event. A source told Hollywood Life: “One of her girlfriends said, ‘You know Chris is down there.’ And Karrueche literally said ‘You can sit me at the top [of the area they were seated in] because I don’t want to see his a**.”
