Chrissy Teigen Responds To Crazy Amanda Bynes’ 'Old, Ugly Model’ Tweet
Chrissy Teigen is pretty candid when it comes to social media, but the Sports Illustrated model essentially ignited a Twitter war with Amanda Bynes when she talked about the former child star’s fan base.
"I feel like, I'm always very outspoken, but it goes without saying, I think there's a problem here," Teigen told Eonline.com. "Something's wrong and I just loved her. I loved her so much and I was rooting for her for so long, and what's happening now is wrong. And I think social media is really a bad point for her right now, so I felt the need to say it."
When the self-proclaimed “retired” actress responded to Teigen harshly, as most would expect by now, the Sports Illustrated model asked her fans politely to leave Bynes alone.
"The hard part after was seeing them [followers] trying to defend me, and I don't need that. I mean, it's fine. I was fine with her comment. That was the hard part afterwards," she told the celebrity news site.
It seems these days everyone is old and ugly compared to Bynes, who launched verbal attacks at Rihanna over the Memorial Day Weekend. But after a tweet from the SI model, Bynes began waging war with Teigen on Tuesday.
"The fact that Amanda Bynes has any 'support' to retweet is really unsettling," Teigen, 27, posted. "Support people with mental illness, yes. But don't condone/enable scary and poor behavior."
Bynes, who practically welcomes confrontation these days, didn’t like that the SI model was calling out her fans. "Chrissy Teigen, you're not a pretty model compared to me," Bynes shot back. "I signed to Ford models at age 13. I don't looks up to you beauty wise. I'm far prettier than you!"
"I'm offended that you're saying I have a mental illness when I show no sign of it," Bynes contined. "But thankfully not one man that wants me wants you and you are an old ugly model compared to me!"
“I don't respect you!" Bynes finished her tirade against the SI model. "You're no beauty queen! I'm a beauty queen."
But Teigen, who's engaged to crooner John Legend, didn’t let Bynes’ nasty tweets get her down. "Nope. Not going to indulge," Teigen wrote, asking her followers not to indulge the troubled startlet. "Wish the best for her truly. I never ask anything of you guys, but please. I don't need defending and please stop writing her. It's not funny. It's sad."
The former Nickelodeon star, also 27, was arrested last week for alleged marijuana possession and reckless endangerment after she allegedly threw a bong out her NYC apartment window when officers entered. But it appears that the New York Police Department’s case against Bynes is falling apart. According to TMZ, there is no hard evidence she was ever in possession of the illicit substance.
