Chrissy Teigen has revealed that one of her friends has been enduring online harassment after social media users linked her to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Taking it to Twitter, Teigen shared a small clip of all the comments her friend has been receiving on her business account on Instagram. A lot of users commented things like “#cancelchrissyteigen” and “#savethechildren” on her friend’s posts.
One of the netizens wrote that they do not support “child abusers” while another social media user stated, “Child lives matter [sic].”
As soon as Teigen shared the clip on her official Twitter account, a lot of people came in her support and said she should not be giving her valuable time to such trolls. One of her fans wrote that the “trolls” are a bunch of nobodies who have nothing better to do.
Meanwhile, one of the users called it “disgusting” that people are attacking Teigen through her friend based on a rumor.
“The fact that all these people are spending their time harassing people about a baseless rumor they actually know nothing about. I don’t know how we can get rid of this kind of going on social media??? But it’s disgusting,” another user wrote.
John Legend’s wife previously retweeted a picture that showed how trolls are harassing her on Twitter. She captioned it, “Fun timeline, right?”
The model recently went private on Twitter after receiving a plethora of tweets and messages on how she was on Epstein’s flight logs going to his island, Little Saint James. Teigen slammed all the trolls who tried to malign her name and said that she is done with their antics and called them “ignorant.”
She also criticized some of the social media users who kept on posting about the issue even when she has denied all the allegations.
Teigen has already blocked more than 1 million people on Twitter because of all the harassment. She also deleted more than 60,000 tweets because of the erratic behavior shown by some social media users.
Epstein allegedly sexually exploited as many as a “dozen” of underaged girls from 2002 to 2005. In 2019, the late financier was arrested for sex trafficking and died by committing suicide in jail on Aug. 10, that year.
